Ok, this is fun. Seriously, fun! Last night I was browsing through my pin interest and one of my friends had pinned These cookies from Dana @ My Little Celebration.

Go check out her pictures because they are awesome. So awesome in fact that I decided I wasn't even going to take any photos last night lol Mine came out exactly like hers.

So here's the run down. This was a quick and easy recipe. No complicated grating of a whole chocolate bar or grinding oats. Straightforward is oh so nice.

No nuts, but I did use peanut butter.

Straight out of the oven these were good. A bit oaty, and heavy for me though. Although I did somehow manage two before bed, hehe.

This morning, I'm so happy to see these held up overnight. They are still soft and yummy. The peanut butter taste has come out a bit more as well as the cinammon.

I like them, but Cookie #2 blows this one out of the water.

Only made 18 cookies, and they are going FAST! If I make it again I'll definitley double the recipe so that I can share more.

Next cookie is going to have less oats, and hopefully nuts. I still miss them.

There is no method to my madness, obviously.

I got a text at 6ish. It was from my main taster and said "Vodka and Chocolate chip cookies sound awesome for dinner"

2 hours later, she showed up with El Pollo Loco and I provided the Cookies and Vodka.

This go round I tried this recipe from Brown Eyed Baker

Here's how mine turned out (Wil promptly broke this fabulous plate about an hour later, ugh)

What I loved about these cookies....
-You melt the butter, No waiting for it to soften..which for cookies that you need quick is essential.
-They were exactly what they promised thick and chewy
-The color was good, they looked like a traditional CCC
-They tasted great out of the oven
-They were soft and yummy the first night and really hit the spot
-I used two kinds of chocolate chips, hersheys special dark and nestle semi sweet. The combo was divine. You could legitimately taste both flavors in each bite.

What I didn't love about these cookies....
-I didn't "get" the twist them apart and stack them. I did it for half and the only difference was that some of the twisted ones looked like siamese twins after they were done baking.
-They got much harder overnight

What I'm looking for in the next cookie...
-Oatmeal, I need it.
-Nuts, I also need those. lol
-A little longevity. They should stay soft and yummy for more than a few hours, right?

All in all a decent cookie....Looking for the next now!!

Operation Bad Ass Chocolate Chip Cookie Attempt #1

Those of you who are my "friends" on Facebook know that recently I issued myself a challenge to find the absolute BEST chocolate chip cookie recipe. Sure sounds simple, right? Ha! I've found that everyone has their own specific thought on what it should be. Some people like a crunchy cookie, some a soft. Some like nuts, others no nuts. My father asks for his burnt, seriously.

For me, I think the perfect cookie is going to be thick.
Soft inside with a nice crunch outside.
I want to be able to taste the butter, but not be overwhelmed by it.
I love nuts but one of my testers doesn't eat nuts in their cookies so I'm making them both ways.

So, for the first test I thought I would try a Cookie that I've had my eye on for awhile. Ever since the emails started years ago the Neiman-Marcus $250 Cookie Recipe has been begging me to make them.

I tackled these last night. I halved the recipe, I don't need 80 cookies lying around the house! I also added 1 tsp of Cinnamon, because I can and while tigers hate cinnamon, I love it. Here's a few things I found...this dough is no joke! It was thick and dark. As I rolled them into balls as the recipe calls for they strongly resembled meatballs on my cookie sheets. I'm not going to lie, I may have gagged a little at the thought. Raw cookie dough isn't in my food pyramid so I refrained from trying the concoction until baked.

As noted in the recipe by many commenters, they needed extra bake time. I felt I did as well with the first batch taking about 15 minutes (Which was too long, I ended up with crispy cookies) The second batch I took out at 12 minutes and cooled for 2 minutes on the pan before transferring them to a cooling rack.

The no nuts batch was too crunchy for me..and too thin. It seemed like the walnuts made the cookie more moist and thicker. I'll give you the full review when that tester does her job!

For the Nut version of this recipe. The cookies are good. They have a nice buttery flavor. Too much Oatmeal for my taste, while I think my perfect cookie will have oatmeal I'm going to try one next with no oatmeal just for good measure. I used walnuts in this batch because well, I had them on hand. I'd like to redo this recipe at a later date with less oatmeal and pecans.

Danny wasn't much help however he did declare that these were "probably the best chocolate chip cookies you've ever made" The guys at work also like them, but no specific comments. I need new testers.

Sorry for the 2 week break bloggers...it's been, well...eventful.

As most of my friends now know my Grandmother passed away Wednesday February 9th @ 12:47 PM EST. My Mother was already in Buffalo attending to her as she had been in the hospital for about a month.

There was a mad scramble to get everything taken care of and lay her to rest the following Saturday Feb 12. I can only imagine the things they had to go through in New York to make it happen!! Here on the home front we rushed to scan 250 photos and find music appropriate for her memorial DVD. Once I had them all scanned and emailed David worked through the night to make sure it was perfect. Then we struggled to get Dad on a plane bright and early Thursday Morning along with the DVD. Thursday my Mom decided she wanted all of us here. It took some fancy talking but I got me and my two brothers on a Delta flight Thursday Night/Friday Morning.

I got to sit next to what I can only describe as a Ray Charles impersonator on the flight to Atlanta. Got no sleep, and was in rare form when we got off the plane Friday Morning. The flight to Buffalo was much better. We each had our own row and I was able to sleep for about an hour. Sleep glorious sleep.

Once we arrived in Buffalo it was non stop. We only had about an hour to get ready for the wake. Needless to say I needed a shower and a nap but settled for a quick shower and blowdry instead.

The funeral home did an excellent job, if you ever need Mortuary services in the Hamburg/Lackawanna area let me know and I'll get you the name and number. My Grandmother looked beautiful in a classy grey and pink coffin with roses on it. The flowers were perfect, and I couldn't be happier with the standing heart wreath I had delivered as well.

It was...difficult. I had a hard enough time dealing with my own sorrow but the pain I could see on my Mother and Aunt was something I was completely unprepared for. Even now, I'm finding myself taking deep cleansing breaths...in through the nose...out through the mouth.

Saturday Morning we I was up bright and early to prepare for the funeral. It was snowing heavily and we drove our Grandma's car to her Funeral. Everything was perfect. The hearse matched the coffin perfectly and the church was beautiful beyond compare. The services were held at Our Lady of Victory National Shrine & Basilica

The photos online do not do it justice. It was the most breathtaking church I have ever seen. I was wishing I had my camera with me to take photos. In fact, most of the weekend I was wishing that. While it is a sad affair I wanted photos to remember it. Sort of the final chapter in the scrapbook of life I suppose. I did take a few with my Mom's iPhone, so I'll see how those turned out.

My only regret from the whole weekend is that my Grandmothers Husband, Cass, was unable to attend. His Nephew and health advocate made some very poor decisions and despite the recommendations from his Doctors and Nurses he did not allow him the opportunity to visit his wife in the hospital to say his final goodbyes nor attend the funeral for closure. Obviously I have very strong opinions on this matter and all I can say is that karma has a way of making all things equal. We have attorneys fighting to take care of Cass and I hope that he is able to regain his dignity and way of life for what time he has left. He is a strong stubborn man and I hope he can hold out long enough to see that justice prevails.

It was a short trip, and I was so happy to see my cousins, Aunts, Uncles and extended family that I had not seen in many many years. I just wish we could have done it a few months ago. It would have been wonderful to spend the time with my Grandma while she was still here. I have many memories of her and I won't forget them.

The flight back was long.... 5 1/2 hours to Vegas where most of us were bumped from our Flight to Ontario. We decided we did not want to spend the night and wait for a flight in the morning so we rented a car and drove home. I drove the whole way and actually beat David home who did make the flight!

The next week was crazy...we moved our offices and I was sooooo very sick the whole week. I had to come to work to move and get things ready for the business. I spent all weekend in bed and am starting to feel better finally. Back up to about 80% today...thank god!

The offices are coming along nicely and the guys are moving the shop today. We have until Monday to leave the old place so it's still a mad rush but things are moving along nicely. Not to mention I can almost function normally now too! Yay!

This weekend we are celebrating Danny's Birthday which just so happens to fall on my Grandmothers Birthday as well. I plan on having a cake in her honor as well as watching the Memorial DVD with the rest of the family who was unable to attend the services in Buffalo. It will be good closure for all of us. Hopefully my Mom will be back home by then too!! She's hoping to fly out Thursday Morning.

I'm looking forward to some normalcy...late nights at the baseball field (Did I mention I am managing Wil's Junior BB team this year? lol) Need to get some scrapping done and work some magic for the tryout for Glue Arts Design Team too!

It's FRIDAY! "'cause it's Fridayyyyy" (I love that movie lol)

I'm planning on a busy weekend, hopefully with some time for Scrapping and I want to get in a trip to see my Niece and Nephew since I missed her bday last weekend for CHA.

And really, how can you not want to see this smiley face?! He makes me want to have a baby and start all over again lol

I've got a great wreath for you today inspired by Chez.

I had a ton of this paper made by Glitz and it sat around for a year waiting for the right project to come along. What better way to use it than for a sweet Valentine's Day wreath?! I love coming home everyday and seeing it on my front porch. (Please excuse the dirty screen door in the shot, I was in a hurry and we never use the front door! lol)

Happy Groundhogs Day!

Yes, It's been too long. I know this!

I have been on hiatus from Scrapbooking. Sometimes you just need to take a step away so that you can gain a new perspective. Yep, I'm feeling better now.

My sweet, wonderful friends Jamie Dougherty and Chez aka Jenny Chesnick talked me into meeting them at CHA. I had a great time seeing them and working the booth doing make and takes for Julia over at Glue Arts. Most importantly it gave me the itch to start creating again.

With a little nudge from my biz Mandy Starner I whipped up a layout last night based on a Page Maps sketch. Our layouts turned out completely different, which is what I love about this hobby. Different people are inspired by different things to create fabulous works of art.

Here is a quick iPhone photo of the layout I created last night.....The crackle paint is still drying in this photo but hopefully I'll get a better one to share tonight!

Our Florida vacation.....according to iPhone :o)

We started out Friday around 12:00 PM on the road to Las Vegas. We chose to fly from there because we could get a direct flight and it's only about an hour and a half further than our usual airport.

The kids enjoyed the aquarium at The Silverton

I discovered that a few days before Wil decided to cut his hair because it was "puffy and ugly" It left him with a few bald spots on the back of his head that he swears aren't really there...the camera is lying.

We took a ride down to the Excalibur and let the kids run wild in the game area.

A quick dinner at the Excalibur food court.

Then a ride down the strip to see the lights and the action and it was back to the hotel. Rachel and I made a monster shirt for Wyatt and then we all watched Shrek 2 in my bed before it was sleepy time.

The next morning Wil had a huge meltdown at breakfast and Danny had to take him to the room to talk to him (yes, he's 13 not 3 lol)

And no, I did not try it..ick!

After breakfast it was time to catch the shuttle to the airport. We had so many people and so much luggage it literally took a whole shuttle for us and a suburban for our luggage. Issues lol

Even though he had his DVD player, his game boy, his books, his magazines, etc. etc. Wil chose to sit like this for most of the plane ride.

Yes, he insisted on sitting in the window seat too.

We got to Florida in the evening about 6 PM and by the time we did the baggage, rental cars and drive to the Villas it was late and we were TIRED!! Did some quick grocery shopping so we would have breakfast food, grabbed some dinner and hit the hay.

The next morning I was up bright and early and enjoying a bagel and OJ on my porch. Yep, here's the view!!

The trip was filled with fun, sun, kayaking, fishing, relaxing, late nights and the kids coming through like locusts.

Danny loved kayaking with the dolphins, who just so happened to stop by our place every day morning and evening for our own personal dolphin show!! And All you can eat crab legs night at Cricketers. He ate 6 plates worth!!

(Wil had the ribs) We also tried deep fried oreos...I'm not so sure I loved them but I didn't hate them either.

Our villa had these flowers all over the place...not sure what they are but they smelled like Plumeria or something...

Thanksgiving dinner was spent at Kelly's...they had turducen...didn't care for it so I'm making my own turkey this week sometime! lol

Did lots of family pictures on Honeymoon island..more to come!

I'm going to miss the cuddle time with this lil guy (Who we called Hangover Baby all week since he spent so much time in the baby carrier)

And the saddest thing of all...flying home...boooo

All in all a great trip...minus the clothing meltdowns from Wil and Michelle...and David staying out all night and Mom being pissed off at him..it was fairly quite!

Looking forward to the next family trip!

Monday Morning Blues and a new Issue

It was a long weekend....and I think I'll leave it at that!

Yesterday I did however get my room somewhat picked up. I can walk in now!! I've got 3 huge boxes of new stuff I need to sort and put away yet, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and I don't plan on buying anything for awhile. (at least until next week, yanno lol)

The How I spent my Birthday Post (almost a month late lol!)

3 1/2 weeks ago it was Wil's Birthday, and then mine. One day apart. Yep.

I was up at 5 AM on Saturday Oct. 2nd making Wil's "Lemon Cookie Cake" (see bottom of post for recipe) I also needed to wrap presents, finish presents, etc. I made this fun pancake breakfast for him. He walked in and said "That's tight". Which translates roughly to "Thanks Mom, you're the best and I couldn't ask for a better birthday breakfast. I appreciate you being up at the butt crack of dawn to make this for me before my 8 AM game." (At least that's how *I* translated it...)

He then opened a couple new presents from us...Metal Cleats (Size 10 1/2, yeah) and new sandals to wear to the field. Got him ready to go and sent Danny to drop him off while I finished getting ready.

Loaded up snack (it was our snack day naturally)gatorade, hot cheetos, granola bars and cupcakes. We had a good game and the weather was gorgeous! Yankees won, of course and we ran home to change before the party.

Since we were also sharing our party with Michelle we were headed to my Brothers house...picked up Pizza and El Pollo Loco on the way there and had a fabulous party with the family.

Wil got a ton of clothes, hats, a remote control car, giftcards and a new phone. We got him a green Pantech Pursuit. He's beyond thrilled with it!

I got some giftcards to Barnes and Noble, the iPhone 4, clothes, candles and an awesome new cookie sheet and brownie pan.

The next day for my Birthday was spent relaxing, watching TV a little scrapping..mostly doing a whole lot of nothing!

Now for the recipe that's quickly becoming a family favorite.

1 box Lemon Cake Mix (With pudding if it's available)
1 8 oz tub of Cool Whip
1 Egg

Mix together in a large bowl and refrigerate for 30 minutes or longer. (I've left it overnight and it's fine) Fill a bowl with powdered sugar and powder your hands with the Sugar. Form small balls and roll them in the powdered sugar, coating well. Place them on a greased cookie sheet and bake 8-10 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Cookies are done when the edges are slightly browned. Let cool for 1 minute before removing them from the pan and then continue cooling on a wire rack.

For the cookie cake I placed the balls approx. 1/2 inch apart on a greased pizza pan and baked for 25 ish minutes. The recipe made one "pizza" and a dozen cookies.

Teresa Collins and SEI Family Album

Earlier this year my Sister in laws Sister (follow me? lol) had a little girl. She posted some FABULOUS photos on facebook that I was just dying to work with so I had her send some to me!

When I first made this album I didn't love it. Since then it's grown on me quite a bit!! I used an awesome album from SEI and used some Teresa Collins paper.

Finished it off with some Basic Grey stickers, ribbon and a 7 Gypsies charm!

I heart MME Blackbird!

I really really do!! Every October I feel this rush of creativity and MUST alter things for halloween. This year was no exception and the line I chose to create with was MME Blackbird.

First up are a couple cards *gasp*! Yes, I made cards!!

This one says "from the Boo Crew" on the inside hehehe

Next are these fun Bottle Caps from Maya Road. I used a magnet on the back of them to turn them into refrigerator magnets. The guys and I had fun moving them around each day in a different arrangement, but I think this ended up being my favorite.

Last but not least is this Haunted House I made, also Maya Road and MME!

She's Crafty..

Last year I was contacted by the super talented and sweet Becky Fleck of Page Maps to create a layout for her new book Page Maps 2. I was beyond excited as this is my first official publication in a Mag/book!

FINALLY, I can share the layout I created for her..

It's goofy, it's silly, it's typical me right?! I had just gotten the Cosmo Cricket Boyfriend line and was oh so in love with it!

I received my Layout back last week and then this week I got the book!! I'm still beaming over Becky's praise and really just the opportunity to be included with her and all the other talented ladies in this book, especially my friend Mandy Starner!

If you don't have children...I don't think you appreciate the quiet like a Mother does...I'm just sayin'!

It's been a busy summer (as usual!). Although, when don't I keep myself busy? We drove 2500 miles to and from Idaho...Here are some of my fav photos from the trip.

This weekend I had Little League Sign ups and what a nice surprise I came home to, I won an award! Don Ferrarsse gives out a volunteer of the month award. My Mom nominated me and I won a $75 gift card to Outback Steak House....Yum!

Wil's been at his Grandmothers since Wednesday, enjoying the break but not enjoying the hard work to get him back into his routine before school starts on Monday.

This is how we do it..

Wil has been talking non stop about these pancakes...seriously lol He didn't see me making them and can't figure it out. I've seen people use cookie cutters and pancake molds but I just put the batter into a frosting bag and piped it onto the griddle in the letter/shape I wanted. I did a Star and heart for Wil and a Happy face and heart for Danny.

Yes, I call my husband Bun lol. It started as Hunny, then Hunny Bunny, then Bunny, and Bun for short.

When we were little, my Mom used to tell us she made us special pancakes...my brother got puppies and rockets..and I got kitties and flowers. Oddly enough, they all looked round? lol

I love weekend breakfast time with my family...it's special..try it!

Had a nice relaxing weekend!!

Friday night we set out and had dinner at Viva Maria's. Quaint lil mexican place here in town. Their chips n salsa are the bomb! No really, they are!

Saturday morning we were up mid morning. I caught up on blogs and Facebook games, priorities people. The we set out to the mall to get some new, cheap, summer clothes for Wil since he is a weed. We picked up 5 t-shirts and 5 shorts (all men's sizes!!) from JC Penney. I also got a pair of cute capris, and Danny got 3 work shirts...for $147.00. What?! Yea, the t's were like $5 each and the shorts $10 each. SCORE! I wasn't super worried about quality or them lasting forever since he will also get new clothes for school in a month, just something for him to wear so it doesn't look like we are taking a homeless kid on vacation..lol

Also stopped at Costco for pictures and Bruno Food...Danny's shop for them to look at the truck (it's making noises again!! Ugh!) and some Carls Jr. for lunch. Finished the day off with some TV and a Chicken Alfredo Pasta Bake that was delish!

Sunday I was up bright and early and made pancakes for my guys and threw some chocolate chips in mine...mmm. I made entirely too many but froze the leftovers in baggies for Wil to eat throughout the week. He has a new "way" to cook them...Microwave for 15 seconds...then cover in syrup and microwave for another 30 seconds. They are a soggy nasty mess, but he thinks then the syrup is "cooked in" gag.

I scrapped the rest of the day away...made 3 Mini albums and 3 Layouts! Wow! Can't share them just yet but I can tell you my hands were Peacock Blue at the end of the day lol

Yes, it's been months. We are pretending it's otherwise!!

It's been an eventful Summer so far!! Wil made All Stars yet again and had a great time with his team.

They were a bunch of goofballs, they didn't win the tournament, but they had a great time doing it and I couldn't have asked for better parents to be chillin' with for 3 weeks.

I've gained a new blinkie...see above side bar! Sad to see so many girls not signing on for another DT term with Scrapgal but excited to see what the future holds there.

Planning a trip next month up to Idaho for a week to visit Danny's Grandparents and hope to have a ton of pictures to scrap. ROAD TRIP Baby!!

That's about it...looking forward to meeting my newest little Nephew Wyatt in a couple weeks and trying to wrap my mind around having an 8th grader...wow!

Sisterhood of the Travelling Stamps

First off, Happy Friday to ya'll. Secondly, I scrapped...and I'm gonna blog about it...no one die from sheer shell shock, ok?!

Back in January, which I now realize was omg 2 months ago!! I attended CHA, while there I hung out with MJ who then took me to a booth for My Stamp Box We met the super sweet ladies there and they invited us to participate in a swap of sorts called The Sisterhood of the Travelling Stamps. It's really neat! You get a set of stamps to create with and when you're done you pass them on to a friend so they can create too!

I created this layout with the stamps...

I stamped the film onto a Transparency using Black Stayzon and then used my ZAP heat gun to heat it up. What resulted was awesome! Here's another angle so you can see it better...

I've got my sights set on you...

Since my last update....here's what's happened!

Sept 3rd...this brother turned 43. Sept 3rd

This kid turned 12...October 2nd

This Little Girl turned 6...October 14

And I turned 31...October 3rd.

The 3 Octobers celebrated together...Wil wanted no cake...only ice cream, so I obliged lol

The good thing about sharing...I didn't even have to blow out the candles on my cake...between the kids they took care of mine too!

Got so much awesome stuff, A pink Instax Mini **Swoon**, a new tripod, movies, books, music, remote for my camera, the list goes on and on.

We used our Christmas Presents from the Uncles (park hopper passes for Disneyland!) On Monday Oct 5th and goofed off all around California Adventure and then Disneyland.

Wil loved CA Adventure, but was scared of almost everything....it took some coaxing but he went on almost everything we wanted to.

There we are on the Tower of Terror, yep I took a picture of the TV screen with the picture on it lol (Top row on the right) It was actually pretty scary!

The boys went on a Roaring Rapids type ride and while I was waiting with all our STUFF to get a picture of them coming down the drop this comb-over stepped right in front of me. I was amazed...it's gotta be the worst comb-over in history!...if there's a world record for comb-overs he needs to try and beat it.

We posed with all the giant letters (that spell CALIFORNIA), check for a scrappage coming soon! lol

Disneyland was super cute with all the pumpkins...I adored it!! And the Haunted Mansion was fabulous all redecorated with Nightmare Before Christmas.

It was a fun day...but a LONG one! We got home somewhere around midnight and were beat. Rides we rode...
CA Adventure - Soaring over California (Which I screamed on lol) Mickeys Fun Wheel, The roller coaster, Tower of Terror, Muppets 3d show (Fabulous!), The roaring rapids

Disney- Haunted Mansion, Tiki Room, Mark Twain Boat, Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain (My entire leg was soaked and wet jeans are icky!), Finding Nemo Submarine ride, Star tours, and some others that I'm sure I'm forgetting about...

The last 2 weeks have been pretty normal...work, school, baseball, etc. Danny has been working on his car...the engine is being dropped today and we are hoping to sell the HHR next month and start saving that payment each month!

I leave you now with some photos from Yesterdays baseball game. We lost (2 - 4), but it was a great game and Wil pitched fabulously.

Pink Paislee And Maya Road Banner

I've gotten soooo much done today, not all of it I can post...but this I can!!

I used a Maya Road Banner Album to create this cute little Fall Banner for Everything Scrappn's blog challenge.

I adore how it came out!!

On the scallop parts I used liquid pearls and glimmer mist to create a great texture! Also Glimmer Mist on the tree trunk. Finished it off with Pink paislee PP, Maya road flowers and some Fall Pics from last year.

I used up some BasicGrey June Bug pp and woolies on this, yeah I love it too!!

Pics were taken in July at a park in Adelanto that I HAD to stop at for the merry go round. Yeah, I'm a nerd, it's ok.

In other news, 7th grade started for Wil OMG!! My camera got lost or stolen, so I have no pictures of that to share..first year ever I don't have a picture of him on the first day of school. I'm a tad bitter about it, but hopefully I'll have a New D90 for my Bday in 6 weeks (not that I'm counting!)

Ok, so I know what they say...excuses are like....and everyone's got one! But really, I've been busy. Doing what?, you ask. Oh well let me show you, doing what.

Since about May 20th I've spent an insane amount of time here.

Yep, the ball field. Seriously, from 8-16 hours a day there. It's been a long hard road but for the 187 Apple Valley All Stars I provided for, it was worth it. We hosted a city championship, 3 Tournament of Champions, and 4 All Star Tournaments. Wil was on the 10-11 National team and wow we did so well!! They won 3 consecutive games taking them to the championship game. Unfortunately they just couldn't get the win for the entire district. Fortunately, they lost to the other Apple Valley team which means I'm still sending a team out there to represent us!

I took this picture of the gloves on the line before the first game, we were driving around taking care of some business and I had to stop and snap a photo. Loved it. "It's so Little League"

Is that not enough? Hundreds of hours of community service isn't enough for ya'll?

Ok Ok well, we had our 4th of July party. Bigger water slides, even more drinking and fabulous fireworks show. I didn't get a very good variety of pictures (please note the more drinking above lol) but this is possibly my favorite photo from the event.

Yeah, it was fun! I almost peed my pants laughing.

Tournaments all wrapped up last Wednesday for me so Thursday we were able to get out as a family and go to a concert in the park. There was a fab band playing Neon Nation. They were an 80's tribute band full of energy and excitement. Here's a picture of Wil with his balloon for "99 Red Balloons"

It was a good night, full of hand holding, fresh air, dancing, ice cream and a little catch. What more could we ask for!

Friday night we just chilled on the couch around the tv and talked about the adventure we were going to go on Saturday.

We took a little road trip...first stop...

Merry go round in Adelanto!

I've been looking for a Merry Go Round for several years off and on. It's just something I remember from my childhood that Wil has never experienced. My brothers and I used to make ourselves sick at the neighborhood park on it. In fact I remember a McDonalds that had one in the basement.

This picture was taken while I was ON the Merry Go Round with Wil. Danny was pushing us.

We only spent about 30 minutes there, but it was sooo worth it. Danny and I raced down the slide, which was super hot!! Just acted goofy.

Next up, Lunch at Carls Jr. Hey there's not much to choose from when you're in the middle of nowhere.

Then we went to Blackbird park in Adelanto, CA. It didn't do much for me, but for the geeks, they loved it. Lots of big old planes to look at and read about. Yeah, my guys love planes.

From there we went to find Musical Road in Lancaster, CA. Cities that have W Avenue G and East Avenue G...both of which intersect North 30th and South 30th...really annoy me. Come up with street names people! Anyways, we found it, there is one tiny sign and if you're not paying attention you'll totally miss it. We went over it about 4 times...me screaming and clapping each time like a super nerd.

On our way home Danny took us to charlie Brown Farms. I got a Bit O Honey and Dark Chocolate Cherry Cordials. Danny got Chocolate Turtles and Sour Gummy Bears. Wil got Rootbeer licorice and Rock Candy.

It was a fabulous day and it feels like it's finally kicked off our Summer!

Weekend

Started the weekend off Friday night...Sandy & Kristi made it in for Wil's game. We teased Wil about Sandy being his girlfriend. Then when Kristi showed up the boys were like Wil is that your other girlfriend? lol

Awesome game, the boys pulled it out! Now we have to win Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I'm not expecting us to, but it would be really really nice!! Drama as per the usual, I got called a bitch by some jerk from the other team. And I didn't even do anything lol

Saturday we headed out on our exploration. Kristi had mapped us out a wicked awesome fun trip. First stop...A guys front yard that he has decorated with bottle trees. It was interesting, and we took a 10 mile long dirt road that led us to the middle of nowhere, where we were sure we were going to be raped and murdered.

Next up was the first ever Del Taco. They didn't accept ATM and the woman got super grouchy at our special orders, especially Sandys lol

Then we went over a bridge to the Route 66 Museum and train station for some freindsy photoshoots.

By the end of the day we were beat! It was fantastically fun!

Sunday the girls left by 12 and I stayed home scrapping for the afternoon. It was super relaxing and very rejuvinating! This morning I've scrapped, scheduled 4 blog posts, ordered photos and now blogging while my boys are out picking up some lunch.

The word Title reminds me of a Championship fight, a title shot. Jesus if that isn't an accurate depiction I don't know what is. It's hard being a Mother, really hard. With that being said, Happy Mothers Day to all you Mothers out there (whether you've fought for the title or not lol)

We had just put her hair up in about 15 teeny tiny ponytails as per her request/insistance.

What else, hmm the last official game of the season is on Saturday night, then we have playoffs and possibly All Stars. It's been a tough year for Wil so I'm not quite sure if he will make it or not.

Yesterday I had a date lunch with Danny. That was nice...yanno to actually get out and be an adult! I try to remind myself to enjoy those moments even if they are few and far between.

Have I said it's just one of those years? Well, it is.

I guess that's all for now! I'm looking forward to a little tailgate celebration with Dannys Softball team next Sunday out at Mavericks Stadium.

Happy Easter

So our Easter was....nice-ish. I was in a pretty much foul mood, I'm tired..I'm grouchy..I'm over it.

Will woke us up bright and early and found his Basket and gifts right away. We then colored some Easter Eggs...Made some cupcakes...made some corn casserole...did some laundry..cleaned some house. Oh yeah, entertaining.

At 12 we headed out to my Brothers house to spend time with the family. I spent a great portion of the day playing Webkins with this sweet girl .

Buddercup. Oddly enough, the site does not allow for any type of profanity and while Buttercup does contain the word Butt I think it's just plain ridiculous. They also wouldn't accept her name Michelle because it has the word hell in it. Crazy right?

Anyways, she totally lifted my mood...buying clothes and dressing a virtual dog in a fidora, mary janes, and a bikini. How can you go wrong?

My cousin Jamie also introduced us to chacha. You can text ChaCha (242242) from your cell phone and literally ask it any question you can think of. Yeah, it's crazy! So we've been asking it hella crazy questions thinking it's a computer such as when you Text Google (466453) for info but come to find out..it gets routed to an actual person who types you a response. Hysterical right?

Yeah, I asked then how old they think I am based on my previous questions. They guessed....17-19 rofl.

Is that it? Oh we went to the batting cages last week....Will hit a sweet double to tie the game Saturday night...and caught a monster fly ball!

Things have been insanely crazy. Upset on the Little League front has caused me much much stress in the Month of March! It's no wonder I didn't blog at all lol

I'm looking forward to April. Kristi is comin down for Easter..yay!!! Will be super fun to have her and share my family traditions with her. Let's see how much she loves Wil running around the house looking for what the Easter Bunnys hidden him!

Little Leagues 70th birthday is this month and we are Celebrating on April 25th with a small carnival at the fields. Should be fun fun!!

Weekend Crop & Baseball

We started the season off last night with our first practice. It was COLD, windy and wet!! We've got a good little team and a great set of parents, it's going to be a fun fun year!

Ok I know, it's been awhile...but I've been busy!! Last weekend we had tryouts. Yeah, and it hailed. Uh huh, I wanted to cry!! We worked it out...waited about 15 minutes and it passed. The weather held us up a bit but the draft went well and everyone was happy. Yay!

A few weeks ago I the boys and I went out for a little photo shoot. We learned a lot about what to do and what not to do. Some tricks on using the remote properly. It seems like common sense now but if you put your camera on the remote setting with 2 second delay, you will have ample time to hide said remote. lol (note remote in dannys hand)

We tried to take serious pictures, we really did.

Can Chapstick Kill you?

Ok so this picture wasn't from today...but every blog needs a picture lol

Usually Wil is pretty quiet in the car. He keeps his thoughts to himself and stays in a twilight of sleepy awakeness that I like to call morning haze. I wonder most times what he's thinking of and sometimes he obliges with a tale or two.

This morning, he had a time waking up. I popped up at 5:29 AM 1 minute before the alarm officially went off and decided what the hay let's get up and shower anyways. Wil was still in bed when I was out and dressed at 6:09. Seeing as we have to leave at 6:30 I woke his little butt up. Opened the door and said....Good Morning Lazy Daisy...time to wake up! With a grunt and a groan he did as was told.

Fast forward to the truck...we get in and as I'm backing out he says "Mom....(yes?) Can Chapstick kill you?" Me taking it quite literal respond...sure it can...anything is possible. Thinking...if a toothbrush in prison can kill you surely a chapstick can, right?

He get's a little flustered and stutters "R.R...R...Really?" Sensing with my special 6th sense that only Mothers have I realized he was serious and that he had probably done something stupid with Chapstick. Seeing as he's an 11 year old boy I was hoping it wasn't anything so disgusting that I would have to return him home and involve his father in it. Because really, what do I know about BOY stuff? Ok I know some....lol

So I gently begin the quesitoning...Why are you asking? "Well because I was reading my chapstick" And..."and I was wondering if it would kill you" Dang this kid and his circle questioning tactics!

What happened to your chapstick? "Well nothing to this one" What happened to the Chapstick in question?..."well..." ...... Well? "Well, it was really good." What do you mean it was really good? Like it tasted good? "Yeah...it was like a Cupcake or Twinkee. And what did you do to it?..."I think I ate it"

You THINK you ate it?! (What the hell!) ..."Yeah it was really good" Why the heck would you eat a Chapstick!? "Cause it was good" (trying to refrain from laughing hysterically by this point..) You just ate it? "No, it was awhile ago.." Like last night? "No I was like 9 or something" Ok..."and well I was reading my chapstick this morning and it says not to eat it...will it kill me?"

Yeah, you have about 30 seconds to live...(yes I'm that mean lol) "What!? You're lying!" Yeah of course I'm lying, if it was going to kill you...you'd already be dead. Don't eat chapstick ya dingleberry. "Even if it's really good?" Even if it tastes like candy...it's not. "Ok"

10 Minutes to Idol

Yeah, I'm an American Idol nerd. I just can't help it! So here I sit...half watching the Simpsons and counting the minutes until the boy wonder goes to bed.

Is it bad that I count the minutes? Nah, cmon people! Just because you're a Mother doesn't mean your life is over and your child should have every waking second of your life consumed by them. Bedtime is oh so glorious!! I don't know how SAHM's do it...

Anyway, I've been scrapping more and more and more... up to 37 projects for the year. Lots of lifts as of late! Been stalking Lisa Dickinson and Stephanie Howell's blogs lookin for lifts and posting them up at Scrapgal for all to share and be inspired by.

Wowsa it's been a quick and wonderful holiday fo sho!

How much do you love that I forgot I was wearing antlers? lol Or how about how Dave jumped in on our "family" portrait lol

Christmas Eve we spent at my Mom's as per the usu. It was low key...buffet style with more food than you can possibly imagine!!

We also let the kids light the Menorah...David's claiming he's a Jew now.

We took hella family/kid portraits...this was one of my favs! Just imagine Wil screaming the whole time "They're Killing me!!!"

Danny took his (seriously!) first picture I didn't actually delete!

They usually consist of pics of either my boobs....my butt....or me with ridiculously horrible hair cooking or watching tv. Or my fav...just pics of like a whole room full of crap.

Last week we had snow!! Like a foot of it!! Too bad it couldn't wait a week then we would have had our first ever White Christmas!

Finally, the wait is over..you can see my Nov DT stuffs for Scrapgal! I know I know, I never even mentioned it before..lol

It's been a long week (and it's only Wednesday!) I've been having a ton of random memories lately. Last night wasn't a great one...but this morning I got a good chuckle!

So XM merged with Sirus....like hella ago right?! This morning I turned on the truck to find that there were a ton of new/different stations. While flipping through I came across the Grateful Dead Station. No no, I'm not a huge GD fan but back in the day my brother Jacob was. We used to have a radio in our bathroom and whomever was in there had control over it naturally. I was always the first up...playing some sort of Whitney or Mariah, well cause that's how I rolled lol. Then Little bro would get in there with Hank Williams...finally Jacob with his Grateful Dead.

He would put Casey Jones on repeat, so we would be stuck listening to an hour long rendition of "Drivin the train...high on cocaine" yeah, nice! Well David was little...like IDK..6 and he thought it said...Driving that train...drinkin kool-aid. lol So he would run through the house singing that over and over and over!!

Anyways, thats all I got for today...so far anyways. A week and a half to go until our cruise! I'm getting super duper excited.

Weekend Update

We headed up to Big Bear Lake for the weekend...it was sooo super cold at Oktoberfest but we had a blast anyways. There were lame games...little swap meet type booths and some carnival games to play. I think Danny is the only one who actually had a beer lol.

Me and my new bff. Kristi made me go into the petting zoo...where I fed a pig with a bottle. And I honestly thought the pig was going to attack me and eat my hand off. lol

We walked around the Village and shopped a little. I got an ornament, we got candy and a yummy caramel apple. It rained/snowed. And we took lots and lots of Puppy pics...which will be scrapped and posted soon!

How much do I love love this challenge blog! I just "found" it last month and loved their sunshine challenge so! Luckily it's their blogiversary and I can catch up on some past challenges!

Here's my take on the "Bad Hair" challenge. Last year Danny decided that he wanted to dye his hair Black...Why do you ask? I have no flippin idea! He's not greying...his hair is already a nice dirty blonde/light brown color naturally but no no he had to dye it. Horrid!! Thank god that phase is over.

First up is the newest challenge over at http://colorstorychallenge.com/ Such fun colors and great inspiration! Glad I've finally tried one of their challenges!!

Next is the new http://sayitinscrap.blogspot.com/ Challenge. Kristi and the girls asked us to use the phrase "Oh no she didn't" When I was flipping through my pictures I stopped on this one and thought omg yes! I took this picture last Thanksgiving when my SIL ran my 9 month old neice to the toilet because she was "potty training" her. My heart broke for the poor little baby, who the hell potty trains that early!?! Luckily she stopped trying so hard and at least gave up until she was about 16 months. Aye...

My it's been a nice weekend! Saturday I started out the day bright and early shopping on the couch in my PJ's at http://everythingscrappn.com/ Heather has some new stuff and 30% off the entire store! If that's not enough...also free shipping. Yeah I can't resist a sale..lol

Then I went out to Sign Ups for Little League until 1 which was fun, I love it when everyone's in a good mood and we are able to poke fun at eachother.

Up next was some more shopping...got some new clothes and jammies and a pair of hawaain themed bermudas for a luau fundraiser we were invited to. Made a pit stop with Mom to get a pedicure and a haircut and then onto home to get ready to go.

The Luau was fun! I had lots to drink and won a circular saw in one of the raffles. We raised some money for St. Judes and partied with friends, what could be better!!

Today I'm relaxing, scrapping and waiting for the boys to get home from helping out Danny's friend fix his motorcycle so he can sell it. Long story short, the poor guy has a wife and 3 kids...a few months back fell at work and shattered his hand/wrist/arm. He's got all these pins and rods sticking out of him and can't really do much with 1 hand. Disability doesn't come close to matching what he was making so he's selling things off to stay afloat. Stuff like that...scares the hell out of me!

Well, I'm off to try and finish something else up before my boys get home!!

Well a week of waking up at 5:30 AM as opposed to our usual sometme between 7 and 7:45 AM has definately taken it's toll on us. This morning we drag assed our way out the door on time and did a little...OMG it's Friday Cheer before Wil got out of the truck.

My mornings at work are quiet...I can think and get some stuff done before the boys get in the office which is really really nice. One thing I look forward to everyday is my igoogle screen. These cute lil fellows greet me every morning and I sip my Starbucks while they sip theirs. I listen to any music I like while working away...I actually quite like it.

Here's Wil after I picked him up on the first day of school. They had a huge mix up with the buses and put him and 20 other kids on the wrong bus! DOH! Then they told us they didn't have time to look for our kids...nice I know....gotta love it. Anyways, I won't get to into that...or I might blow a gasket. He looks so little...and so big in this picture. *sigh*

MJ inspired me to have fun and get out and shoot something random, I don't recall how but I know I was talking to her..lol If I'm feeling a little down and needing a small break I take the back way into work when I'm coming back from lunch and I see something we don't see often up here...the trains. I don't know if they run all the time or if I just get lucky and hit them at lunch, but it reminds me of being a kid and sitting in the car counting the train cars as they go by with my brothers. So I decided it's time to stop and shoot it! I will spare you the 33 photos of this train I took and leave you with one random one that I like!

Last and certainly not least!! I finished this layout this week for the new Unpubbed lift. I haven't made my way over there lately but was very inspired by the current lift. You should check them out at www.unpubbed.blogspot.com

And I'm at work. Already this morning I've made cinnamon rolls, did the dishes...and dropped Wil off at the bus stop for his first day of Middle School.

He looked so nervous..and I felt so scared for him. Not to mention the thought of how old it makes me that he's in MS...

He's going to be ok, right? Breathe in...breathe out..

At least I'm alone at work with my Starbucks, AOL radio on to the "adult Alternative" station and singing along loudly with Jewel at the moment.

Oh, and I scrapped some more last night...I'll post this afternoon if I can.

Challenges & an Update

The new OLW challenge is "Be". I've used some of Wil's 5th Grade Promotion pictures and incorporated it in the title Be Proud. I can't believe he is starting 6th grade!! Check them out http://onelittleword.typepad.com/

His Middle School Orientation was on Friday poor lil guy looked so nervous and scared...a new school....a new group of kids. Luckily when we got there I met up with some baseball Mom's and he grouped up with the kids. There are only a few kids in his class that he knows but they've already got plans to meet before school and before lunch in a secret spot. All in all it went well, it looks like a fantastic school and I know a few of the administrators from LL. Who says Baseball doesn't pay off? lol

Next is the new Sketch up over at Gettin Sketchy. I gotta admit when I first saw the Sketch I thought omg no I can't put that many pictures on there....NO WAY! Then I started another LO and just "tried" to make it work. I absolutely love the outcome and it just goes to show you that you really can make any sketch/lift work for your liking. This little Graduation pig was no joke the HIT of the day! My Mom brought it for Wil and when he opened it and it started walking around singing everyone loved it...Kids came over asking to have their picture taken with it...it was hysterical..lol The other pictures of the actual ceremony came out not so great so they worked really well as accents in this LO rather than the main event!

I love some of the old school elements in this LO like the glitter, the beads, OMG the bosher! Not to mention I've had those Newspaper flowers forever not quite knowing where and how to use them.

We've had a decent weekend so far. Yesterday Danny worked while I scrapped these 2 layouts. Wil was able to hang out with his friend and then just chill playing Video Games. His video games are very very limited during the school year so he lives it up while he can!

Last night we picked up some Papa Johns Pizza {Yummm} and headed over to Danny's Secretary's house for game night. I know what you're thinking..lol But let me explain...his secretary is a man, who's married to another man..so it's all good. I was nervous as you people know I am not the most PC person out there...and after a few drinks my mouth starts flapping lol Well they were actually super cool and I adored them greatly! We are definately planning more game nights and events.

Oh did I mention I won?! lol In the end it came down to Danny and I. Danny who made a deal with me for free rent for life on his 2 monopolies in exchange for some very valuable properties to him. Yeah, he definately screwed himself there. In the end he had only those 2 Monopolies (The reds and the greens) and I had EVERYTHING else. He had no way to make money {Which was good as I had little left...lol} Anyways, yeah it was fun!

Today we are headed up to the Barstow Outlets, we are looking for school shoes for Wil. He's in an odd size 6 1/2 Mens. Because its so small hardly anyone carries it in stock so we are hoping to score a deal at the outlets. Which also means I get to stop at Coach, maybe Danny will buy me a prize too!!

Anyways, I'm off have a happy Sunday everyone!

Update: Came home and scrap, scrap scrapped!! Hey what can I say I was on an OMG I got a new Coach high. lol I'll post pics later of the new addition...for now here's another challenge. This first LO is for the Sketchabilities blog. If you're looking for different sketches try them out for sure!

We had a rough year last year, in 5th Grade. Wil struggled with the school work, his teacher was piss poor to say the least, and well...let's just say it left a lot to be desired. Something that we enjoyed however was the Walk Through California's Presentation of the American Revolution. Wil drew the part of Patrick Henry and we had a great time rehersing lines, putting a costume together, and going over dramatic affect.

Scrapping the Music-Magic by the Cars

Whoa...a blast from the past!! And what do you know...I'm on time! lol Ive done their last couple challenges just didn't get around to posting them until it was much too late, but yanno they inspired and that's what I keep comin back for!

I chose the first line of the song "Summer....it turns me upside down" for this silly picture of my Nephew Jack. I absolutely adore this little man to death! I don't get to see him as often as I'd like since his Momma lives several hours away and despite our constant "We are going to make time" promises life just has a way of getting in the way of our making time.

When Jack sees the camera come out he automatically goes into silly mode begging me to take more and more and more, who am I to deny the kid a little happiness? lol So be prepared to see more pictures of my little clown in this same outfit.....if I find the time to scrap them!

The song was Drive by Incubus...and I chose the line Whatever tomorrow brings for a LO of my Brother walking across the stage at his Graduation from Film School.

Next is the Elsie inspired Mojo Challenge. We had to pick a line from a Ditty Bops song. I chose Life seems to have a purpose when you're wandering aimlessly and used it with a picture I took of my Niece Michelle earlier this year. We were walking back fromt he bathroom and she just kept walking in all different directions to see if I would follow her. it was super cute and the picture I took of it speaks alot to me. I used a die cut transparency sheet that I bought in Vegas while shopping with the girls so it was difficult to photograph. IRL it's fabulous!

Happy 4th of July

It was a hot but fun one for us!!

Danny had a surprise in store for all the kids who came over...a giant inflatable Water Slide!!

Wil overheard us talking about something big and water so Danny told him we were getting an elephant for the 4th. He got so excited over it asking questions and imagining himself riding atop this giant beast. It was quite hysterical!

Despite having almost 30 PPL over for the 4th I was able to get a LO done!! Yay me! I used the Sketch over at Gettin Sketchy as inspiration and got this done in no time!

I just love his random little self.

So....in honor of my 50th post...and because I know you ALL wanna know what I've been up to...

Top 50 Moments of the last two months..

1. Wil was promoted to Middle School
2. The regular baseball season ended
3. TOC went off without a hitch and we had hella comments
4. Wil was nominated for All Stars and tried out with the top 20 kids in our division
5. Wil made All Stars!! Go Wil!!
6. I've lost at least 10 lbs with all my running around at the fields and no diet change..lol
7. I've never been more tan than I am now...can't call me casper!
8. Danny has figured out how to cook...
9. Danny has figured out how to Grocery shop!!!!!!!!!!!!!
10. My Lil Bro graduated College
11. My Lil bro came home...I've missed his silly ass
12. Hallmark came out with the Commercial that has a white bald middle aged man dancing and dressing like MC Hammer....love it..lol
13. My SWSM held out until they were official! Way to go!
14. My Mom had a bad heart scare, but came out ok and she's doing well now.
15. I've packed 50 kits up and am sending them off to the scrap stores yard sale.
16. I've refrained from buying more scrap crap that I don't even have the time to use.
17. I made it through 6 board meetings without stabbing someone.
18. The new Round Table opened
19. We went out for pizza with a team we just beat in the championship tournament, and they even bought us dinner! lol
20. I've made some new friends
21. We got Danny involved in Little league.
22. Travel Ball teams are begging us to play for them.
23. Wil is within the top 5 kids as far as pitching speed goes.
24. I made it through the season without having to work the snack bar more than 10 times.
25. I just chocked on a cracker...but I'm still alive

Ok I couldn't make it to 50....halfway will have to do for now.

So the next challenge is up at Say It In Scrap. I've had a fun time Guest DTing over there for Kristi. This Layout is about my Lil' Brother. As you can see he's not so little anymore!!

It makes me so sad to see him struggle with who he is. I know we all go through our own little issues however I think his was added. He's a big dude...at 6'5" wearing a size 16 shoe. Now it's not so bad because we all know chiks dig tall guys! lol But growing up he was so big at least a head and shoulders above the tallest kids in every class. You know how kids are, they tease anyone who is different. Well I say fuck normal, just be who you are!!

ScrapDragons Fool Challenge

My take on the newest Scrap Dragons challenge. It was to use the word 'fool' in a layout. You'll see on the Mood Alert sheet today I feel like: "Fooling around" Also, we had to use something unexpected. I used a Pop top and some mini card from a teeny tiny deck of old maid cards Kristi sent me. Lastly, we could not use more than 2 items from the same manuacturer. I used DCWV Cardstock, Hambly Woodgrain, The Mood Sheet, Polka Dot Felt from The Red Bee, Sticker from KI Pop Colture, buttons from Tres Jolie, maya road chipboard, 7 Gypsies photo anchor, Paper Clip from K & Co, Felt Thickers, Embroidery floss, Liquid Pearls from Ranger, a homemade Transparency with Sharpies, Crackle Paint from Ranger, and last but not least...Staples.

Nope, I'm not!! Yesterday was HAPPY MAIL DAY at my house!!

We were rushing because Wil informed me that he has practice at 4PM (yet somehow everyone else showed up at 5..hmmm) As I turned into the driveway I saw it...2 packages waiting for me at my front door. There they were sitting there so sweetly..lol I got a quick peek while Wil was getting dressed and when I got home I laid it all out to stare at it and cherish it. What is it about new scrap stuff that just makes you want to caress it? hehehe

First up is the prize pak from Method Playground How much do I LOVE the new Teresa collins lines!!

Next is the order I placed last week with Everything Scrappn I can't wait to dig into all these goodies and get to scrapping!!

Ok so we've started up a new blog

Picture this...we are all dressed up from Davids Graduation.. driving along the coast. Ooooh Ooooh lets go down to the beach and take family pics for our christmas card or whatever.. Brilliant!!

Or so I thought...lol

Wil's glasses were dark because we were outside...so we had him take them off...what we got was a 10 year old screaming like a 2 year old. "I can't see....I can't see...I can't see" What he was trying to see I still don't know. It's not as if he was taking the picture..lol

Oh yes, another 2 for 1. I need to find more time to do a lo for each challenge...but until my fantasy becomes a reality (lol) this will have to do!!

I just absolutely adore this picture of my parents that I took in Santa Barbara earlier this month. When I heard the new song up at Scrapping the music I fell in love with it and knew exactly what picture to use. I love it when things come together like that. I've been spending entirely too much time volunteering with Little League that I feel as if it's draining the life and all my creative juices from my body. I peeked around online for a lift to help me get moving and decided on the newest Jack Seriously happy with the outcome. Thank you to both wonderful sites for the much needed inspiration!

I have yet to purchase those super cute butterflies from Heidi Swapp, but I do have the Spring Autumn Leaves stamps! (Which I had not even opened! Bad me!!) So lookie lookie...with some Cardstock...a glue dot...some stickles and a simple bend...I was able to create my own.

In no particular order...100 things about me..

1. I'm allergic to everything....even antibacterial.

2. I call the fries at the bottom of the bag...bagglers.

3. I refuse to eat bagglers...they are the rejects and probably been touched..gross

4. There was a time when I wanted to be a psychologist, and then I realized I'm not nice...and I can't be diplomatic with people.

5. When I was about 13 my parents realized I couldn't see. I immediately got contact lenses. It wasn't until I was about 19 and I scratched my retina that I got a pair of glasses.

6. I encouraged my bff to bone her worst lay ever a 2nd time...solely for the scrapbook page.

7. Everytime I go to the truck alone at night I'm afraid there will be a bad guy under there waiting to cut my achellis tendons...and then he will take off and steal my stuff...leaving me lying on the ground...bleeding and unable to get up.

8. If I scream...Wil comes running yelling..."I got it Mommy!" (Because I've likley just seen a spider or a bug)

9. I don't like coffee...only Starbucks.

10. I love the dentist...LOVE...I used to beg to get shots...I may be a sadist.

11. In a way, I'm afraid to have another child. People tell me I'll love it more than I love Wil.

12. When people preach at me I want to tell them that God is like Santa for Adults..

13. I, along with most of America am not ready for a Black president..(I'm just willing to admit it)

14. I completely love reality TV...American Idol so does it for me...I'm glued to the TV like a Whore on Crack.

15. I've never done an illegal drug....ever.

16. There are certain things that are unforgivable....once you do them you are Dead to me

17. My environmentally friendly Kitchen Lights flicker when you turn them on...and it makes me want to vomit...so I ask Wil to turn them on for me...or I shut my eyes.

18. I love that my truck tells me how much gasoline I've used...then when the hybrid pushing...freaks...pressure me about how "green" their cars are I can tell them I've used over 2000 gallons of gasoline.

19. Trash diggers disgust me.....that was my biggest pet peeve living in Apt life...the community dumpster that scum bags would be digging through the trash looking for bottles and cans.

20. My in laws don't like me....and my husband finally realized it...now they are just pushing him away with their hatred for me.

21. I actually wore slippers to work today...my feet were really cold...lol

22. I have security cameras on everything at work...all day long I people watch and know exactly what everyone around me is doing...I love it.

23. I played basketball for 10 years...I loved being part of a team and being good at something...I hope my son continues playing baseball and feels the way I do.

24. 6 of those 10 years I was #22. The other 4 #13.

25. I work in an all male industry...all my coworkers...sales people...everyone I deal with...is a man. I'm not intimidated by it at all.

26. When my husband puts on cologne in the morning it makes me gag.

27. My Dad swallows a spoonful of Vicks Vapo Rub when he has a sore throat...I think he's crazy.

28. I like to say, Super, Fantastic, bizarre, wicked, awesome and I want to bring back Moded....ooooh you are soooo mode-ed.

29. When I tell people I'm 29 and they ask me how many times....it severly pisses me off...Do I look THAT old?

30. Even though it's just a number...I fear that big 3-0 just a little bit...such a milestone.

31. Marriage is harder than I imagined it would be...Parenting is even harder. No matter what you do you question yourself...did I do the right thing. Am I screwin him up?

32. I don't understand why even with caller id people answer the phone and act surprised that it's you. Sometimes I answer business calls with the name of the business that's calling, just to throw them off. I usually get a good laugh (from myself and the other party)

33. I say scrapbooking is my hobby, but it's a much bigger part of my life, as are the girls I've met doing it.

34. Most of the time...I'm not that friend.

35. There's a flaw in my diamond, and now that I know it's there it's all I can see when I look at my ring.

36. My ex was an asshole...but the one thing I can remember that I loved was how protective he was. He wouldn't let me get gas in the dark or run around at night. In retrospect, it probably had to do with his control issues....yet somehow I still miss that. Danny knows I can take care of myself and doesn't worry.

37. I hate lettuce...the taste makes me gag...yes it has a taste.

38. While we are on the topic of foods...if I eat something I don't like I will throw up...immediately, I wish I could help it.

39. The following smells make me throw up....Mayo...Tuna...floral scented bug spray...ummm nothing else that comes to mind immediately.

40. When I buy a new shirt...I throw one away. I never buy more hangers because I don't need them.

41. I wash my hands when I get out of the shower...lol

42. I talk to myself constantly...and pretend balloons are people too.

43. While I rarely listen to it...I love country music...

44. I wish I was "artsy" but I'm just average....it's ok I'll live!

45. I hate Jack in the Box...it's pretty disgusting.

46. I love Yankee Candles....no other candle will do.

47. I hate to admit it..but my Mom was almost always right.

48. Have you ever hated someone for so long that you couldn't remember the full extent of why you hate them? I have...

49. I once sent a giant Leopard couch shoe COD to my friends boss....we still laugh about it.

50. Even though I don't believe...I actually quite enjoy attendance at Christan Churches, everyone is so happy to be there.

51. I haven't done laundry in so long, I'm wearing my last pair of clean socks. Luckily Wil has more socks than I do...and we almost wear the same size shoe.

52. IF I were to get divorced I would fight for Wil, I'd lose but I couldn't imagine life without him. I'd also likely never commit again.

53. My JV basketball coach hardly played me...because I wasn't sexually involved with him. It was BS and I should have done more about it. 2 years later he got my younger neighbor/friend pregnant.

54. I almost feel like its time to further my education.....almost

55. Ultrasounds freak me out...kids look like little aliens...gross

56. When I go to hotels...I bring my own towels.

57. I've woken up from a bad dream...and was mad at Danny for something he did in the dream. I can't help it..lol

59. Even though I know better...I think the coke with the Santa on the can tastes better than the regular coke cans.

Conversations with Papa

I had so much fun this past weekend in Santa Barbara. We headed up for Davids Graduation from Brooks Institute of Photography. I felt so at home at the ceremony, everyone had nikons...and more than likely knew how to use them better than me..lol

After the Graduation we celebrated Davids accomplishment and Dannys 31st Birthday at Joe's Crab Shack in Ventura. We've eaten there on several occassions, it's right across from the ocean so you have spectacular views and it's the only non fast food restraunt I know of that has a playground for the kids. We had a nice table(s) right at the window so we could watch Rachel Wil and Michelle all the while enjoying the waves breaking on the shore.

I thought it would be nice since we were all dressed 'nice' for the graduation to go down to the beach and take some family photos and then let the kids play a bit. Well the photos were somewhat of a bust {Which you'll see when I get around to scrapping them!} because it was so windy! On the plus side, I was able to get these pictures of my Dad and my Neice interacting. I just love how my Dad always takes time to talk to the kids and has little conversations with them.

Whoa- It's been a hot minute, Sorry for the delay it's been a busy few weeks for me! Little League Opening Day is next Saturday and there is always SOOO much to do. It's hard, and it's frustrating but I have to just keep reminding myself I'm doing it for the kids!! Anyway, onto the Layouts! First one is LAST months sketch over at http://gettinsketchy.blogspot.com/ and is also one of the LO's I entered for their CT call. The Places you will go is made in part by items I received from my win over at Gettin Sketchy for the newest challenge over at http://scrapmojo.blogspot.com/. It was a fabulous kit from The Scarlett Lime. I def reccomened their kits they rock! And who doesn't love a 2-fer? This is also my entry for http://methodplayground.blogspot.com. I just found this site and they have some GREAT! Challenges!! The most recent one is to use those scissors and hand cut your PP...as you can see I took right to the flowers on the lovely Daisy D's pp and cut them out...took forever but well worth it!!

Scrappin the music challenge

So I've wanted to try one of the challenges over at Scrapping the music ever since our own Jess got on the DT there! Yay for Jess!! The problem is I keep forgetting and man they go by so quickly! Yikes!! OMG I did it! I finished my Stash diet and completed 50 Layouts. (Yeah Ok I admit it...it's a lift..lol) Just in the knick of time too! Next weekend the girls are coming down and we are headed to the much anticipated Scrapbook Expo!!

I've been working hard on my 100 Random things about me post and hopefully can finish it up tomorrow. I'll also post some of my recent layouts.

Rusty Pickle Challenge...

So Cathy..lol...was looking around yesterday and found a Rusty Pickle Challenge!! Yay!! I loved it! I went home..unloaded groceries and set to work on it. Yeah ok, so I didn't feed my family until 8:30 because of it..lol...but look at the fab LO I got from it!

I'm an addict..I admit it! I have over 4000 texts last month...and my poor baby phone died today....it goes to that screen...and then it's stuck!! So...I called my boo and she said call the 800 # so blah blah I did from Dannys phone...2 hours later...they are sending me a new phone. Suddenly life is hardly worth living...how did I ever live without a cell phone?! No wonder it was SUCH a big deal for William to have a phone, right? IDK...

Anyway, on to bigger and better....great news I won the most recent challenge over at scrapdragons! Woooohooooooo Yay for me!! They are super talented and provide loads of inspiration, the real prize is ideas for my lo's but hey I'll take free scrappy stuff too..lol

Christmas Lights & Ornaments

So here it is, inspired by Miss MJ's challenge to take some night shots of all the Christmas lights....our Home. Nope, nothing too fancy, but I love it just the same! it's hard to see, but the little wreath above the garage, the snowglobe and of course my rope lights hehe. It's nice to drive up at night and see your house all light up! In fact even tonight as I ventured out in the 30 Degree cold in my jammies and Robe, the boys headed out there with me! We stood out there for a few minutes..taking it all in...Wil shaking the fence I was trying to steady myself on...lol Danny giving me instructions on where to take the next picture. I love everything about Christmas!!

And next...the Tree, Oh Christmas Tree oh Christmas Tree....I cleared out most of the presents and packed them all away ready to go to their respective receivers house. We've spent many a Decembers evening laying on the couch...Danny watching the TV...Wil and I watching the tree..lol

And last but certainly not least!! Some of my favorite ornaments!! Christmas is such a special time of the year for us...6 years ago we were married (12-22-01) Every year since then I've gotten Danny an ornament for our tree, and everywhere we go on vacation I make it a special point to get an ornament for our tree.
